BMTC Bus Day: Global warming reduction Or a buisness trick?????

I am in the garden city "Bangalore". My employer sent me  here to work for one of  his client. Its been almost 8 months since i relocated to Bangalore. the HR manager of this client used to send me a mail regarding bus day organized by BMTC and First time i thought its a great move by BMTC towards environment.I used to travel by my bike daily and usually i use electronic city elevated road, which reduces ma journey time to 20 min from 45 min.
Mail from HR manager :P

I started imagining the Bangalore's situation like what if  everyone participate for this cause. As you know bangalore is a place with "the worst" traffic. Most of the people over here posses a vehicle. If even 10% of bangaloreans support this cause it would ve resulted in reduction of traffic movement of around 75 lack vehicles than the usual one.. Isn't that great ?????...  forget bangalore population a friend of mine from the elevated road in which i used to travel daily tells me that there is a minimum of 1 to 1.5 lack vehicle movement each day  and if So called IT professionals like me support this cuase it would defiantly reduce to 50K vehicles. So i thought its great movement by BMTC and i joined the cause with full excitement.

yeah it was really a great feeling of being a part of this great move even though i singned in to ma office 45 min later than the usual  :(... But when i reached office there wasn't any difference ,it was like a normal day. From top management to operator every one came as usual. It really disappointed me that the HR manager who sent me a mail regarding "BUS DAY" came in his ford ikon.... I felt like replying to his mail by aggressive words, then i thought why should i do that, i have done ma role by participating for a great Cause.

While in the evening after ma office hours i met a old man in Bus. We had a normal chat and he suggested me to a bike since it would help me in all the way.  then i explained him about "Bus day". And he asked me few question !!!
  • Is it Bcoz BMTC is running under loss???
  • Why they cant provide extra bus on the event of bus day????
  • Why cant they (BMTC) reduce their tariff by some margin ???? which according to him really shows the involvement of BMTC and would attract many .
i wasn't surprised so much by his question as this is what normal people do, instead of supporting, they ve all their -ve thoughts. but his questions made me think ,did my participation in "BUS DAY" resulted in any sort of usefulness?????... And ma answer was "NO" it dint. What big diff it will make if 1 in 1000 support this. No, nothing will happen to this Bangalore. Its bangalore's fate and who m i to change its fate???? and i felt like Its just a business trick by BMTC like all other corporats do...

Finally even i turned out to be a normal man who always thinks -ve....   :( and i never joined BUS DAY since then. If you think I am wrong then pls Participate in Bus day event organized by BMTC usually on 4th of every month(date is not fixed one... they will postpond if 4th falls on weekends).. if you could give me a company then even i may join you people bcoz i still beleive in this great cause..... :)

Keep doing good things..

keep Smiling :).... you need not pay for it....:p

Shiva Gange :"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."

my room mates
sulai,jayaraj,me,srikanth
It was almost a year back from now, when i was in Tumkur and I think it was just 2 days before I left Tumkur, me and ma roomies made a plan of visiting Shiv gange hill in early hours of the day. Unfortunately ma roomies changed their mind and they backed off from this but I was all set go alone. Any ways I must say that these people really missed this beautiful spot and he….. he… They haven’t been able to make it to this hill even till now ….: p. I had decided to go to shivgange and to make some good memories out of that place. Luckily ma friend Narashimha supported me. So I and narashimha decided to go by ma Acesss 125.

I got up early in the morning took bath in freezing cold water then I started ma journey.  Dude it was just 20Km away from Tumkur towards Bangalore root. But still it was mastiwala ride cos of the cold breeze. Our hands where freezing while riding as we had started by 5.30am in the morning. Our plan was to climb the hill and have a beautiful look at  the sun which is rising from the east… Dude I am from a science back ground and how can I call sun is rising???? :P… It just appears to rise as earth revolves around the Sun and rotates by its own axis and sun being center of this universe … chalo lets leave all this science stuff here itself.

In the foot of the hill there was a temple with a big maha dwara. But it wasn’t open that early. From this point hill top is approximately around 4.5 to 5km. there was hardly few people who could give us the company to climb this rocky hill. When we cover 1/4th of the hill we get one temple (Don remember which one) which is inside a big rock.. There was a small pond people say that if you grab your hand inside that pond if you are successful in reaching the water you will be blessed by the god ..:P I don believe all these things I was feeling very pity on a lady who was not even 4ft toll and having a shorter hand unfortunately she could not grab the water and she tried around 5 times to grab it . Does it mean she was not blessed by the god??… Bull shit on these “superstitious”(Its a blind faith).

Base:Shiv Gange

I started climbing up thinking about these people who believe in superstitious, These are really crazy man. After some time I saw a banner which requested visitors to help the shivgange organization by carrying bricks to the top where renovation work was going on.  I and narashimha tried our best to carry the stone. but we ended up carrying just for photo shot :)

Sun rise: It was really beautiful

On the Mid way we get a beautiful shiv parwathi statue. At this moment I felt it’s really worth visiting this place. It was so beautiful and the weather was just fantastic. Sun just started to show up its sharp beams of light. Both of us were exhausted and we took a break for 15 min. By this time I could see some crowd following us :P.  I told ma friend Narashimha to click a photo of me with the statue.  he is really a bad photographer  and  I started blasting him for missing a proper snap with such a beautiful statue. Anyway you can check out ma click which covers both narashimha and entire statue. :)

shiv parvathi statue

I should kill narashimha ... Such a worst Click

Finally I ended up in reaching the hill top after 2 and half hours of climbing. I must say that hill top is an observational deck. You can have a beautiful look of entire Tumkur as well as out skirts of Bangalore. there is a temple in the hill top.previously i had visited Savan Durga, Bangalore. I felt the same experience expect for the root. It was tough root in Savan durga than in Shiv gange. I will update about savan durga in ma future post. There is fire ploe on top of the hill people say that they will light this pole with fire during "shiv rathri" time. many devotees visit this place during Shiv Rathri time.

If you are planning for an outing with a gang of around 2 or more then this would be the best spot. I bet you that you won’t regret for choosing this spot. Peak of the hill is enriched with natural scenery which would tempt you to visit the spot again and again.
have a look at pictures ... hope you will like it :)......

Organization requesting visitors to carry Ettige

Me carrying ettige.. Just for a pose

I took this in mid way of the hill.... awesome view

Me having a look at beautiful sun rise

Myself and narashima in the peak

It was fully covered with fog..

Hmmmm :)

This place will really thrill you by its natural scenery. If you ve made your mind to visit this place refer below Pic for the direction

From Bangalore around 45km to 50km.
From tumkur around 15-20km
You need to take a stop in Dabbaspate industrial area. and ask for shivgange root.
You need not carry any foodies since snacks shops are available for every 100mtrs..

Be careful this place is full of your ancestors("Monkey"). these have developed a habit of grabbing  your food item(I Know that it's a common nature of monkeys but i felt monkeys over here are specially trained to do so).

Keep smiling :).. You need not pay for it ...
